The Metal Ages began when people started to use metal.

There are 3 periods in the Metal Ages:

The Copper Age: 

Copper was the first metal used to make tools and weapons.

The Bronze Age.

People discovered a new stronger metal bronze by mixing copper with tin.

The Iron Age.

People learned how to make tools and weapons using iron. This metal is stronger and naturally abundant.

During the Metal Ages...

• The jobs became more specialised. (farmers, warriors, ..)
• With the invention of the wheel, goods could be transported easily.
• They make pottery using the potter´s wheel.
• New trade routes were created.
• Metalworkers hit the metal with hammer to shape it.
